Warehouse Cladding Cleaning – AJB Group, Corby (July 2025)

Operative cleaning warehouse cladding using an extendable pole.

Overview

We carried out a commercial warehouse cladding clean for AJB Group at their 40,000 sq ft facility in Corby, Northamptonshire in July 2025. The brief was simple: restore a cleaner, more professional appearance across multiple elevations of the warehouse building while keeping disruption on site to a minimum.

Light-coloured metal cladding shows weathering quickly—organic streaking, traffic film, and general soiling are especially visible on large surfaces. We cleaned methodically from ground level using extendable pole equipment, followed by a controlled rinse and uniformity check. To help the finish stay cleaner for longer, we applied a biocide treatment to slow organic regrowth after cleaning.

Project summary

  • Client: AJB Group
  • Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
  • Date: July 2025
  • Facility size: 40,000 sq ft
  • Site area cleaned: Warehouse building elevations (cladding only)
  • Surface: Light-coloured profiled metal cladding
  • Method: Extendable pole cleaning + controlled rinse
  • Finish: Biocide treatment to help slow organic regrowth

The challenge

The warehouse cladding had visible vertical streaking and general exterior soiling across tall elevations. On large warehouse units, the main risks are:

  • uneven results if the clean isn’t methodical across sections
  • runoff around lower brickwork, doors and access points
  • disruption if hoses, equipment and work zones aren’t controlled

The job needed to be planned and executed in a way that kept the site usable throughout — without expanding into separate plant/extraction areas elsewhere on the site.

Our approach

1) Site check + method selection

We assessed the cladding condition and planned a low-impact approach suited to commercial metal cladding, focusing on consistent coverage and controlled runoff.

2) Controlled cleaning across multiple elevations

Working elevation-by-elevation, we cleaned multiple sides of the warehouse using extendable equipment from ground level. This keeps the workflow consistent and helps avoid patchiness on large surfaces.

3) Thorough rinse + finish check

Each elevation was rinsed thoroughly and visually checked for uniformity, with attention to upper sections where streaking shows most.

4) Biocide treatment (regrowth control)

After cleaning, we applied a biocide treatment to help inhibit organic regrowth and extend the clean appearance—particularly valuable on light-coloured cladding exposed to weathering.

5) Minimal disruption

Work zones were kept tidy and planned around access points to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations.

Result

The warehouse elevations were left cleaner, brighter, and more uniform, with weathering marks and organic streaking significantly reduced. The biocide treatment helps slow the return of organic growth, supporting cleaner-looking cladding between maintenance visits.

Why we use biocide

Biocide treatment helps slow the return of organic growth after cleaning, keeping exterior surfaces looking cleaner for longer between maintenance visits.
