Overview

Full commercial exterior cleaning project at Farmfoods supermarket in Crownhill, Plymouth. The scope covered the entire building exterior - roof cleaning, cladding wash, frontage and signage area, and the car park entrance. Roof-level work was carried out using a MEWP cherry picker for safe access to all elevated sections.

The Challenge

The supermarket remained open throughout the cleaning works, meaning public access areas had to stay safe and unobstructed at all times. The car park and entrance required careful management to avoid disruption to customers. Signage and frontage areas needed protection during cleaning to prevent damage. The corrugated roof profile added complexity - moss and debris collect in the troughs and require thorough treatment rather than a surface-level rinse.

Our Approach

1. MEWP cherry picker setup for safe roof-level access around plant equipment and roof fixtures
2. Roof cleaning - working systematically around ventilation units, skylights, and plant equipment on the corrugated profile
3. Cladding wash across all building elevations using appropriate pressure and soft wash methods
4. Frontage and signage area cleaned carefully to restore appearance without damage
5. Entrance and car park area pressure washed, managed around customer foot traffic

Result

The entire building exterior was restored to a clean, professional standard. Roof, cladding, frontage, and ground-level areas were all completed with zero disruption to store operations. The before and after difference across 43 project photos speaks for itself.
