Full Property Exterior Clean - Luton (June 2026)

A full exterior clean on a large traditional home in Luton, completed in June 2026. The owner wanted the whole house dealt with in one go rather than booking each part separately - so the work covered the lower roofs, the gutters, fascias and soffits, the brickwork, and the patio, pathways and steps. With several different surfaces and roof types on one property, the job ran top-down and was treated as one coordinated visit rather than a single quick clean.

The Challenge

A full-property clean means we need to handle several jobs on one site, and this property surely showed the full set. On lower roofs, we had to clean a mix of clay and concrete tiles. The extension roof was flat felt with moss and algae along the eaves and in the tile joints. Moss and debris filled and blocked the gutters, and it was clear that a flush wasn’t enough for the downpipes. Through the mortar joints of the red brick walls, green algae staining was visible. As for the patio, pathways, and steps, they were green and slippery due to organic growth. Across the property, several surfaces were at height. We had to use ladders to do our work, and kept to the lower roofs and accessible elevations. To avoid re-dirtying the patio, we cleaned in sequence, starting with the roofs and walls.

Our Approach

First, we examined the property and established the order of our work. Before we started, we protected the windows, doors, and the planted areas along the walls. After we removed the moss from the clay and concrete tile roofs, we used a bleach solution for soft washing. This way, we killed and eliminated any remaining algae and lichen at low pressure. The flat felt extension roof was jet-washed. Across the accessible roof sections, we’ve done our work off ladders. We manually cleared the gutters of moss and debris and jetted the blocked downpipes. The team washed down the fascias and soffits. And yes, the owner was flagged on any spotted issues. To refresh the red brick walls, we used pressure washing and lifted the algae staining from the brick and mortar joints with softwash solution. For a natural stone patio, concrete flags, and steps, we turned to jet washing. To lift the organic film from the surface and joints, our teams performed steam cleaning. Growth was killed by applying a bleach solution with softwashing.

Results

In just one single visit, we’ve cleaned the entire exterior across the property, top to bottom. We’ve removed the moss from the lower roofs and eliminated the remaining algae and lichen from the tiles with softwashing. The blocked gutters got cleared, and the downpipes started to flow freely after we jetted them. The brickwork looked clean, and the brick face and mortar joints no longer had algae. Jet and steam cleaning were used on the patio, pathways, and steps. We’ve lifted all organic growth from the surface and joints.
